Solar PV in the Agricultural Sector
Walsh Mushrooms in Golden, Tipperary is one of the largest mushroom farms in the UK or Ireland. They supply over 500 tonnes of fresh mushrooms to the UK market place, growing over 150 tonnes of fresh mushrooms in Ireland.

Woodco/SolarCo completed a 600kw Solar PV Project at Walsh Mushrooms Golden, which produces 530,000kw hours of free electricity for use on the farm per annum. Walsh Mushrooms are a valued client of Woodco as they already have a 500kw WoodCo SUPERMAX Boiler. In addition they have a 1 megawatt biomass boiler fuelled by wood chip to meet their heat demands.

New SEAI Solar PV Grant For Businesses!
In July 2023, SolarCo were delighted to announce news that the Government of Ireland released a new Solar PV grant for businesses in Ireland. This will typically support 20-30% of the investment cost, reducing payback to as little as 5 years! This will increase the demand for Solar PV even further!
New Staff On Board
The first half of 2023 saw new faces join the WoodCo & SolarCo team.
Here are some of the new people that joined our team:
John Downes- Biomass Project Manager.
John had his own business in Summerset, England. He owned an
operated tomato farm and on that farm he had 3 1 megawatt
biomass boilers that he owned and operated. John hails from
Newcastle West.
Ian Donnellan- Solar PV Project Manager.
Ian joins us from Creganna, a pharmaceutical company in Galway. He
also worked for Boston Scientific. Ian is originally from Galway!
Paul Ryan- Financial Controller.
Paul is CPA Qualified Financial Controller and he worked in the
aircraft leasing sector for a number of years in Shannon, County Clare.
Paul is from Dulla, County Tipperary.
Terrie Burke- Customer Support.
Terrie is originally from the Déise, she holds an MBA qualification and
has a wealth of business experience in various industries.
SolarCo News: Rod Hogan announced as Technical Director
Rod will be leading up the technical team at WoodCo,
bringing his hands on experience from being a Project
Manager for WoodCo for the past number of years.
SolarCo News: Financing for our Products

WoodCo become a member of Guaranteed Irish
WoodCo were announced as a member of Guaranteed Irish in May 2023 after approval from the board of appraisals team.

We had a busy year to date attending & exhibiting at events in Ireland and overseas! Our travels took us to Austria, Spain and Germany.
