Mulrooneys Gala

Mulrooneys Gala is located in a historical market town in County Tipperary. Serving the local community since the 1970s, Mulrooneys offers a full range of services for motorists, including a large Gala store, a popular bakery and deli, and convenient on-site parking.

Mulrooneys wanted an experienced solar PV installer to guide them through the process from start to finish. Solarco’s team supported them throughout their solar PV journey, from early engagement to delivery of a 140 kWh rooftop system—helping reduce carbon emissions while offsetting a significant portion of the site’s electricity use.

The Beginning

Solarco’s Commercial Sales Manager, Gerard Kennedy, carried out an in-depth site survey, provided a detailed design report and gave them multiple different proposals. In this case, a rooftop Solar PV System was the right system as they had ample trapezoidal roof space.

The Installation

Solarco completed the installation of a 140 kWh rooftop Solar PV system (212 panels) at Mulrooneys Gala, making full use of the available trapezoidal roof space. The project was delivered safely, on time, and with minimal disruption to the business.

The system was fully commissioned and optimised for performance, with system monitoring in place so the team can track generation and savings day to day.

Health & Safety Features

Health & Safety is at the core of how Solarco delivers every commercial solar PV project, especially on live sites like service stations, where public access, vehicle movements, and day-to-day operations must continue safely. From the initial site survey through installation and commissioning, our team carries out detailed risk assessments and method statements, implements robust traffic and access controls, and uses appropriate fall protection and roof-edge safety systems when working at height. All works are planned to minimise disruption, with clear communication to site management, strict housekeeping, and continuous oversight, so the project is completed safely, on time, and with confidence.
